Test of Faith: Article about Jacob

This article about Jacob in the Portland Mercury just dropped. I believe it is not only accurate and reflective of the larger context, it is deeply humanizing. The author has successfully painted a picture that invites people into the story at multiple levels: as parents, as children, as friends, as citizens, as people of faith, and also as dog-owners. This is a high-quality piece of journalism, in my humble and thoroughly-biased opinion.
I plan to send an update after our planned in-person visit to Jacob tomorrow.

The September 4th article was deeply inspiring! Tom, i am so honored to call you a F(f)riend and brother. An African American activist and journalists once said, "the difference between a moment and a movement is sacrifice. You are turning this moment in your lives into a movement that calls us all into action on behalf of the stranger, the captives, and those who stand in solidarity with them. After reading your blog, I found myself closing my eyes and when I did I saw something so beautiful it made me smile..... it was you driving the school bus. May you find it another form of worship. Blessings to you, Beth and of course Jacob.
